Tottenham have enquired about signing Croatian goal machine in January

Tottenham Hotspur have enquired about signing Freiburg striker Igor Matanovic during the January transfer window, according to reporter Ben Jacobs. Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly seeking additional attacking reinforcement following a difficult start to the 2026/27 Premier League season, where Tottenham sit at the bottom of the table after scoring just two goals in five matches.

With Richarlison reportedly out of De Zerbi's plans, the 23-year-old Croatian target man has emerged as a potential mid-season permanent transfer option. Matanovic has started the campaign in strong form for Freiburg, scoring six goals in his first seven appearances after netting 15 times last season.
