Tottenham’s injury concerns in a crucial part of the pitch could convince them to make a big statement of ambition in the upcoming transfer window.…

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly contemplating a permanent €80m (£69.6m) bid for Atletico Madrid attacking midfielder Alex Baena to address their midfield injury issues. Manager Roberto De Zerbi faces limited attacking options following long-term injuries to Xavi Simons, Dejan Kulusevski, and fitness struggles for James Maddison.
However, Atletico Madrid currently have no intention of parting ways with the 25-year-old Spain international during the January transfer window. Baena is also reported to be happy in Madrid, despite previous interest from Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa.
