Tottenham injury worry as Jan Paul van Hecke immediately leaves Netherlands camp

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Paul van Hecke has withdrawn from the Netherlands national team squad due to an injury sustained against Serbia. After participating in only seven minutes of an open training session in Zeist, the 26-year-old was sent back to Spurs for further medical treatment, ruling him out of upcoming Nations League matches against Greece and Serbia.

Van Hecke joined Tottenham from Brighton & Hove Albion in a £52 million permanent transfer this summer, reuniting with manager Roberto De Zerbi. Tottenham hope to have the central defender recovered and available for their next Premier League match against Manchester United on October 10.
