A return to Spurs is not completely out of the question…
Tottenham Hotspur have retained their first-option matching clause for Harry Kane despite the striker signing a new contract extension with Bayern Munich. Kane, who recently won the 2026 Ballon d'Or, committed his future to the Bundesliga club until 2029 on a deal that reportedly makes him the highest-paid player in Europe by base salary.
The original clause negotiated during Kane's 2023 permanent transfer to Bayern allows Tottenham to match any accepted bid if Bayern ever decides to sell him. Although transfer reports suggested Bayern wanted the clause removed, the agreement remains in place with no fixed buy-back fee included.
