Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to lodge a formal complaint to refereeing body Pro Ref after Leeds United defender Jayden Bogle avoided a red card. During the match on November 7, 2026, Bogle caught forward Mathys Tel's ankle with his studs, forcing Tel off with an injury. Referee John Brooks was not sent to the pitchside monitor following a VAR review, leaving the defender unpunished.
Leeds went on to win the fixture 1-0 courtesy of a 79th-minute goal from Noah Okafor. Former Premier League assistant referee Darren Cann stated the challenge met the criteria for serious foul play, although Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi refused to blame the officiating for his team's defeat.
