Tottenham Hotspur CEO Vinai Venkatesham has revealed that the club made contingency plans for relegation during the 2025/26 season. Speaking on The Sports Agents, Venkatesham described the relegation fight as a traumatic experience and stated that failing to plan for a potential drop to the Championship would have been irresponsible. Spurs ultimately secured their Premier League survival on the final day with a victory over Everton.
Following the scare, Tottenham spent nearly £400 million on ten new signings during the summer transfer window. Despite initially failing to win their opening six league fixtures of the new campaign, Spurs have since rebounded with three consecutive victories, moving up to ninth place in the table.
