In a Premier League season increasingly shaped by injuries, rotation and congested schedules, what happens when the first choices are unavailable can be incredibly important.

A Sky Sports analysis assessing all 20 Premier League clubs has ranked Arsenal top of both the Overall Squad Depth Index and the Competitive Depth Index. The study evaluated squad market values, playing time, substitute impact, positional cover, and fixture congestion. Arsenal's named substitutes have averaged an estimated league-high market value of £367m this season, supported by summer acquisitions Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa under manager Mikel Arteta.
The analysis highlights that Arsenal retain roughly 92 percent of their first-team value when replacing their entire starting lineup, with their theoretical second XI valued at £536m compared to a £580m first XI. Elsewhere, Manchester United manager Michael Carrick relied heavily on his core team, with starters accounting for over 88 percent of minutes, while Tottenham rotated heavily under Roberto De Zerbi.
