Tottenham are prepared to remain patient with James Maddison as he works his way back to full fitness following a serious injury layoff

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to remain patient with James Maddison as the 29-year-old playmaker works towards regaining full fitness. Despite concerns from some supporters regarding his long-term recovery, the club maintains full faith in his ability to return to his best form following an anterior cruciate ligament tear sustained during the 2025/26 pre-season.
Since joining Spurs from Leicester City for £40 million in 2023, Maddison has registered 16 goals and 21 assists across 83 appearances. Under manager Roberto De Zerbi this season, he has yet to start a match but has featured five times as a substitute.
