Brighton defender Adam Webster stated that it could take several months for manager Roberto De Zerbi's tactical system to fully function at Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League table without a win despite spending over £200 million in the summer on players including Sandro Tonali, Savio, Mateus Fernandes, and Omar Marmoush.

Drawing on his experience under De Zerbi at Brighton, Webster explained that the Italian manager's demanding style and focus on details require substantial time on the training pitch to implement successfully.
