Xabi Alonso wants Chelsea to be in the race for Florian Wirtz if the German playmaker leaves Liverpool at any point in the future…

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has reportedly urged the club to position itself to sign Florian Wirtz if the playmaker leaves Liverpool. Wirtz joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in an £86m permanent transfer over the summer but has struggled to find his top form at Anfield.
Liverpool currently have no plans to sell the 23-year-old, though other clubs including Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also monitoring his situation. A potential move would reunite Wirtz with Alonso, under whom he previously excelled at Leverkusen.
