Ryan Naderi scored an 83rd-minute winner to secure a 1-0 victory for Rangers against Aberdeen in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final at Hampden Park. Aberdeen held Rangers to a single shot on target in a quiet first half, but Rangers increased pressure after the break. Naderi broke the deadlock by redirecting a strike from James Penrice past goalkeeper Marius Müller to send Rangers into the final.
The result advances manager Derek McInnes's side to face either Hearts or Hibernian in the final. Aberdeen entered the match severely depleted with five defenders missing through injury or suspension and suffered another blow when Emmanuel Gyamfi was forced off injured during the first half.
