Ali Omar on wonder goal, Yan Diomande, and Dumbarton owner kipping on his couch

Dumbarton defender Ali Omar discussed his career resurgence, international duties with Somalia, and his close bond with club owner Mario Lapointe. The 27-year-old scored a 60-yard viral free kick against Elgin City that earned him the SPFL Goal of the Month award, while also detailing how Lapointe voluntarily sleeps on his sofa whenever the Canadian businessman visits Scotland.

Omar reflected on balancing Scottish lower-league football with facing high-profile international opponents such as Yan Diomande and Nicolas Pepe. After enduring two years out through knee injuries at Larne, the center-back expressed deep gratitude for his revitalization under Dumbarton manager Frank McKeown and remains determined to help the club achieve promotion.
