Heart of Midlothian midfielder Nieuwenhof says a season-long loan move to Perth Glory gives him the chance to put his injury woes behind him
Heart of Midlothian midfielder Calem Nieuwenhof is preparing to make his return to action on a season-long loan with A-League side Perth Glory. The 25-year-old Australian has spent 14 months sidelined after enduring recurring hamstring injuries during the 2025/26 campaign with Hearts, prompting his temporary return to his home country to regain consistency and match fitness ahead of the upcoming season.
Nieuwenhof admitted it was difficult to miss out on the pitch as Hearts narrowly missed out on the Scottish Premiership title following a final-day defeat to Celtic. Despite the frustration of being sidelined, he expressed appreciation for his experience in Scotland and remains focused on securing regular playing time with Perth Glory.
