Andy Robertson has reflected on being released by Celtic at age 15, describing the decision as the best thing that happened to his career. Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, the 32-year-old Tottenham Hotspur defender explained that leaving Celtic early allowed him to gain valuable senior game time at Queen's Park rather than remaining in the youth setup without first-team opportunities.
Robertson noted that management changes following the passing of Tommy Burns influenced his departure. After starting at Queen's Park while working part-time, he earned moves to Dundee United, Hull City, and Liverpool, where he won two Premier League titles and a Champions League before joining Tottenham Hotspur.
