Celtic forward Camilo Duran was denied his first Colombia goal after Peru defender Miguel Araujo received a red card for hacking him down. Duran had stolen the ball and charged toward goal during Colombia's 2-0 friendly win over Peru. Manager Nestor Lorenzo gave Duran 30 minutes of action as a false nine operating off striker Kevin Viveros.
The victory was a welcome result for Lorenzo following a previous loss to Paraguay. Duran entered the match having registered nine goal involvements in his first eight appearances for Celtic under manager Martin O'Neill, generating excitement in the Colombian media despite being relatively unknown to local supporters prior to his national team appearances.
