Former Celtic midfielder Allan expressed concern over a lack of belief among Celtic players and supporters following back-to-back defeats against Rangers. Speaking to the Daily Record, Allan stated that Rangers were physically stronger across the two encounters and criticized Celtic for struggling in the middle of the pitch.
Allan also argued that Celtic deviated from their traditional 4-3-3 formation to play directly against Rangers' 3-5-2 system without success. He noted that the upcoming international break provides manager Martin O'Neill and the squad valuable time to address tactical and physical issues.
