The Celtic Season Alliance Trust has announced that more than 3,000 season-ticket holders have joined its fan ownership initiative. The Trust confirmed it now holds voting rights attached to nearly 800,000 Celtic shares ahead of the club's annual general meeting in late November.
The project is backed by businessman Willie Haughey and former Celtic captain Paul McStay. Haughey has pledged £2 million to purchase shares for every 10,000 members, up to £10 million for 50,000 members. The free-to-join initiative plans to elect up to five trustees on a one-member, one-vote basis.
