Former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady has praised academy graduate Colby Donovan for his recent performances in the first team. Speaking to BoyleSports, McGeady commended the young defender for sticking to his task during a challenging match against Rangers attacker Djeidi Gassama. Donovan has recently received starting minutes in the squad due to an injury to regular right-back Alistair Johnston.

McGeady highlighted a broader concern regarding the lack of academy players transitioning into the Celtic first team, stating that an ideal setup should feature four or five graduates. He also noted that the Scottish Football Association is actively looking into domestic playing time, as Scotland ranks low in minutes given to homegrown players.
