The Irishman netted his first goal for the Terrors but then picked up an injury.

Dundee United midfielder Neil suffered a groin strain shortly after scoring his first goal for the club in a 2-2 draw at Celtic. Manager Jim Goodwin confirmed that the injury will rule the Irish midfielder out of the upcoming weekend match against Motherwell, with his condition to be reassessed during the international break.
Goodwin also provided updates on other squad members, noting that Emmanuel Agyei is ahead of schedule in his knee recovery and could return later this month. Meanwhile, Will Ferry remains sidelined and will be evaluated following the upcoming international break.
