Former Celtic defender Ramon Vega has revealed he plans to take on Gianni Infantino in the battle to be the next president of FIFA.

Former Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur defender Ramon Vega has announced his intention to challenge Gianni Infantino for the FIFA presidency in next year's election. The 55-year-old Swiss former international is the first candidate to officially confirm a challenge against Infantino, who faces widespread criticism and calls to step down after a failed initiative to sell World Cup stakes to private investors.
Vega, who has worked in finance since retiring from playing in 2004, stated that his campaign aims to rebuild trust, deliver comprehensive reform, and modernize the organization. Infantino has maintained his commitment to remaining in power despite public calls for his resignation from major continental confederations, including UEFA, Concacaf, and the AFC.
