Former Celtic player Peter Grant stated on Go Radio that Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez should have been sent off during Celtic's recent defeat at Parkhead. Fernandez received a yellow card four minutes into the match for a foul on Camilo Duran and later committed another challenge that Grant argued warranted a second booking from referee John Beaton.
Grant criticized Rangers manager Derek McInnes for remaining quiet about the incident after previously contacting the Scottish FA regarding a challenge by Celtic's Mika Baur on Ryan Naderi. Grant compared Fernandez's early foul to Auston Trusty's red card against Hearts, claiming Fernandez was fortunate to remain on the pitch.
