Celtic's new signing Joel van den Berg was left out of the matchday squad for Sunday's Scottish Premiership match against Rangers. The midfielder was spotted at Celtic Park watching the game from the stands while wearing a protective boot. Celtic suffered a defeat against their rivals at Parkhead, and manager Martin O'Neill did not have the summer signing available as an option.
An image shared on social media by Bhoysviews showed the teenager signing autographs for supporters while wearing a Moon Boot. The exact nature of van den Berg's injury remains unknown, but he has a three-week international break to recover before Celtic's next fixture against Motherwell on October 11.
