Sweden has sent Celtic forward Benjamin Nygren home from international duty after he contracted a sickness bug. Nygren was told to isolate alongside teammates Gustaf Lagerbielke, Yasin Ayari, and John Mellberg, causing all four to miss a 1-1 draw against Bosnia. With no prospect of recovering before Monday's match against Romania in Bucharest, the Swedish FA confirmed the players left camp to return home.
Celtic hopes Nygren will recover in time for their Scottish Premiership match against Motherwell following the international break. Fellow Celtic winger Sebastien Tounekti is also returning early to Glasgow after Tunisia withdrew from a friendly against Mali due to an injury crisis and FIFA ranking concerns.
