Kieran McKenna Could Cost Celtic £8m Despite Ipswich Exit

Celtic could reportedly face an £8 million compensation fee if they appoint former Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna. Although McKenna left Ipswich in June, a clause in his departure terms reportedly entitles the Portman Road club to the fee if another team appoints him within 12 months of his exit. This protection is expected to remain in place until the summer of 2027.

There is currently no indication that Celtic have made an approach for McKenna, but pressure is growing on current manager Martin O'Neill. O'Neill's position has come under scrutiny following three consecutive defeats, including a 3-0 loss to Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup and a 3-1 Europa League defeat to Ferencváros.
