Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has confirmed that players not on international duty will receive most of this week off before regrouping at Lennoxtown. The break comes during a period of uncertainty for the club following three consecutive defeats. Celtic recently suffered losses against Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup, Ferencvaros in the Europa League, and Rangers again in the Scottish Premiership.
The recent run of defeats has reduced Celtic's lead at the top of the table to two points. O'Neill has admitted he will assess his position during the extended three-week international break, which runs from September 21 until October 6 under FIFA's combined window format.
