Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane revealed he turned down an agreed move to Real Madrid before signing with Celtic in December 2005. Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane explained that he had a deal in place with the Spanish giants for an 18-month contract, but ultimately chose to pursue a move to Parkhead instead.

Keane also recalled earlier opportunities to move abroad throughout his playing career, noting that he had previously spoken to Juventus and agreed terms with Bayern Munich before re-signing with Manchester United.
