What USA media really said about Auston Trusty after 4-1 Peru win

Auston Trusty played the full 90 minutes as the United States men's national team secured a 4-1 friendly victory against Peru at Inter.co Stadium. Manager Mauricio Pochettino featured a youthful lineup, leaving the Celtic center-back as one of the squad's more experienced figures on the night. Despite the team's decisive win, American media outlets offered mixed reviews regarding Trusty's individual defensive display.

NBC Sports awarded Trusty a 6.5 rating while questioning his positioning during Gianluca Lapadula's goal for Peru, and ESPN handed him a 5 out of 10 for losing his marker. Both Goal and Yahoo Sports assigned the defender a 6 rating, noting he was the only American player to complete the entire match.
