Penrice won his team a spot kick after going down under a challenge from Buddies midfielder Samuel Ramos…

Pundit Chris Sutton strongly criticized referee Nick Walsh's decision to award Rangers a penalty during their match at the SMISA Stadium. The spot kick was awarded following a VAR review after AEK Athens loanee James Penrice went down under a challenge from Samuel Ramos. Ryan Naderi successfully converted the penalty to break the deadlock and score his ninth goal of the season.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Sutton argued that the contact was minimal and that Penrice fooled the referee. Fellow pundits Kris Boyd and James McFadden also expressed skepticism about the decision, with McFadden stating that minimal thigh contact should not warrant a penalty.
