What the Rangers boss said after Hampden victory over Aberdeen…

Rangers manager Derek McInnes highlighted issues with his team's wasteful finishing and revealed he planned a substitution right before Ryan Naderi scored the winner in a 1-0 League Cup semi-final victory over Aberdeen at Hampden. McInnes noted that despite holding 75 percent possession and registering 25 shots, having only five on target was not good enough.
Prior to Naderi converting James Penrice's cross with eight minutes remaining, McInnes was preparing to replace Kevin Kelsy with Bojan Miovski to generate more penalty-box action. However, Kelsy initiated the counter-attack that led to the decisive goal, securing Rangers a spot in the final on December 13.
