Hibs cast net to Germany and Finland in manager hunt as two interesting new names join race to replace Gray

Hibernian are considering Michel Kniat and Vesa Vasara as candidates to replace former manager David Gray. Gray was dismissed just under a week ago following a 12-year association with the club, including two years as manager. Hibs are aiming to appoint a successor during the upcoming international break before the first-team squad departs for a warm-weather training camp in Spain.

Kniat, who recently departed German club Arminia Bielefeld, is available immediately after previously guiding them to promotion to Bundesliga 2 and the 2025 DFB Pokal Final. Vasara is currently managing Inter Turku in Finland, where he has won consecutive Finnish League Cups and reached the UEFA Conference League play-offs this season.
