Marink Reedijk told what Hibs success truly looks like as key landmark may have changed Gray era perceptions

Former Hibernian player Scott Allan stated that new manager Marink Reedijk must target cup success at the club. Dutchman Reedijk replaced David Gray, whose 12-year association with Hibs ended following a poor run of form. Gray was dismissed after a Conference League qualifying defeat to Gent was followed by Scottish Premiership losses against Hearts, St Johnstone, and Kilmarnock.

Allan noted that cup runs define success for Hibs and highlighted the upcoming Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Hearts at Hampden as an early opportunity for Reedijk. He reflected that while Gray stabilized the club and delivered consistent top-six finishes, mounting fan frustration and fine margins in Europe contributed to his eventual sacking.
