Robinson revealed that Aberdeen’s defence has become even more depleted ahead of Saturday’s Premier Sports Cup semi-final showdown with Rangers.
Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson revealed that his defensive options are severely depleted ahead of Saturday's Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Rangers. Chris Cadden has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, while Kristers Tobers suffered a knee setback. They join injured duo Lewis Mayo and Mats Knoester on the sidelines, alongside Dan Happe, who is suspended and ill.
The absences mean Aberdeen will miss four of the five defenders who started their quarter-final win over Kilmarnock, potentially handing Nicky Devlin his first start of the season. Robinson acknowledged the pressure following three defeats in four matches but insisted the Hampden clash provides an opportunity for his squad to respond and cause an upset.
