Former Celtic player Andy Walker expressed surprise after Rangers midfielder Dan Neil scored twice in a 3-0 Scottish League Cup quarter-final victory over Celtic. Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, Walker described Neil's goals as terrific while noting that the 24-year-old is not traditionally known as a prolific goalscoring threat from midfield.
Neil joined Rangers on a free transfer from Sunderland during a summer window featuring 14 new arrivals at Ibrox. Under manager Derek McInnes, Rangers have won five consecutive matches and Neil has formed an effective midfield partnership alongside Nicolas Raskin.
