Rangers defender Olwethu Makhanya has impressed since joining the club from Philadelphia Union over the summer. The 22-year-old South African started alongside Emmanuel Fernandez under manager Derek McInnes in Rangers' 1-0 victory against Celtic at Parkhead. His strong performances have quickly established him as a key starter in the defensive lineup.
Pundit Andy Halliday praised Makhanya's composure and positional sense during the Old Firm derby on BBC Sportscene. Halliday expressed concern that the defender's high-quality performances could soon attract interest from other clubs, potentially leading to an early departure from Rangers.
