An investigation has been launched after officers were targeted during disorder before the Premier Sports Cup clash between Aberdeen and Rangers.
Police Scotland have launched an investigation after officers were attacked prior to the Premier Sports Cup clash between Aberdeen and Rangers at Hampden Park on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Supporters gathered in the Curtis Street area of Glasgow and targeted officers with fireworks, glass bottles, and other missiles. Two fans were also assaulted during the disorder but did not require hospital treatment.
Superintendent Paul Douglas condemned the violence as disgraceful and stated that inquiries are ongoing to identify and arrest those responsible. The incident followed a busy weekend of policing at Hampden, which also saw multiple arrests and charges for pyrotechnics and threatening behaviour during Sunday's match between Hearts and Hibernian.
