Rangers signed 22-year-old Venezuelan forward Kevin Kelsy from MLS side Portland Timbers in a permanent transfer late in the summer window. The move was completed to address a striker shortage at Ibrox following a long-term ACL injury to Youssef Chermiti. Kelsy has already made three appearances under manager Derek McInnes, recording one goal and one assist.

The transfer fee for Kelsy was a reported £9.5 million, with the player signing an initial four-year contract. Rangers will pay just under £2.4 million per year in amortisation to Portland Timbers. Kelsy's salary is estimated to be around £15,000 per week, which equates to roughly £780,000 annually.
