The centre-back has impressed following his £3million switch from Philadelphia Union last month

Former Rangers defender Alan Hutton has expressed concern that center-back Olwethu Makhanya could face a rapid transfer exit from Ibrox as early as January. Makhanya joined Rangers in a permanent £3 million move from MLS club Philadelphia Union last month and has delivered impressive performances under manager Derek McInnes, notably during a 3-0 derby victory against Martin O'Neill's Celtic.
Hutton compared Makhanya's rapid impact to that of Jean-Alain Boumsong, who signed for Rangers in 2004 before Newcastle United bought him six months later for £8 million. While Hutton noted that Rangers' operational model involves selling developed talent for profit, he expressed hope that Makhanya remains at the club long enough to win trophies.
