Craig Mulholland has been tasked with getting more homegrown talent playing in the Premiership…

Scottish Football Association chief football officer Craig Mulholland hosted a meeting with player representatives at Hampden Park to discuss his blueprint for increasing playing time for homegrown youth. The initiative seeks to build broader support among key stakeholders and curb the flow of young Scottish players moving to English clubs.
The proposed rules would mandate playing young Scottish players in both the Premiership and Scottish Cup, but opposition from clubs has prompted revisions. Mulholland faces an upcoming vote requiring an 11-1 majority, leading to possible adjustments such as raising the proposed age threshold to Under-23.
