Key Things to Know
  • Rangers will end their Umbro kit branding and return to Castore branding next season.
  • The club's broader contract with manufacturer Castore runs until 2030 and will be fulfilled as planned.
  • The Umbro branding was only ever planned as a temporary sub-licensing arrangement for two seasons.
The Story in 60 Seconds

Rangers will remove Umbro branding from their kits next season, switching back to Castore for the 2027-28 campaign onwards. The Glasgow club had temporarily worn Umbro's double diamond logo under a sub-licensing arrangement manufactured and distributed by Castore. Club bosses confirmed at a recent fan event that the long-term contract with Castore, which runs until 2030, will be completed as planned for its final three years.

The announcement coincides with fan criticism of a leaked quartered fourth strip combining light blue and dark navy. Multiple supporters on social media mocked the design for strongly resembling English League One club Wycombe Wanderers, with some labeling it the worst jersey the club has ever released.
