Former Rangers defender David Bates is helping his new club, Amed Sportif, lead the Turkish Super Lig after six matches. Bates, who joined the club on a two-year contract in the summer, played the full 90 minutes in a recent 3-2 victory over Besiktas. The win helped propel Amed Sportif to the top of the division ahead of the international break.
The highly competitive match against Besiktas featured five goals, 14 yellow cards, and a red card. The game also featured former Rangers players Ridvan Yilmaz and Vaclav Cerny, alongside former Celtic player Oh Hyeon-gyu, who were all on the losing side.
