The Story in 60 Seconds

Corinthians have appointed former Netherlands midfielder Clarence Seedorf as their new head coach on a contract running through the end of 2027. The 50-year-old takes charge of the Brazilian club with the team sitting 16th in the top flight, just one spot above the relegation zone with eight matches remaining. Seedorf takes over following the sacking of former Brazil interim national coach Fernando Diniz, who was dismissed after seven consecutive league defeats.

This appointment marks Seedorf's first managerial position since departing the Cameroon national team in 2019, having previously managed AC Milan, Shenzhen FC, and Deportivo La Coruna. Seedorf, who won four Champions League titles across his playing career, now manages a Corinthians squad featuring former Manchester United players Memphis Depay and Jesse Lingard.
