The Story in 60 Seconds

Cagliari striker Yael Trepy returned to competitive action as a substitute against Roma, just two months after surviving a near-fatal swimming pool accident. The 20-year-old forward came off the bench during Cagliari's 4-2 Serie A defeat at the Stadio Olimpico, nearly scoring shortly after entering when his effort forced a save from Roma goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.

Trepy's accident occurred in August shortly after starting Cagliari's Coppa Italia match against Arezzo. While spending time off at a rented villa, he encountered difficulty in a deep pool and required intensive care to remove fluid from his lungs before making a full recovery to rejoin the squad.
