Italy defeated Turkiye 3-1 in Bologna, securing a seeded spot for the Euro 2028 draw and moving one point ahead of Belgium. Manager Roberto Mancini heavily rotated his squad, keeping only Gianluigi Donnarumma and Alessandro Bastoni from the prior starting lineup, while Gianluca Scamacca scored the opening goal with a powerful strike.
Midfielder Doumbia delivered an impressive performance on his first international start, setting up Scamacca's goal and making dangerous attacking runs. Vergara also stood out during the match, prompting Mancini to state that young prospects like Romano and Vergara require 10 to 15 more games at this level to aid their development.
