Gerry Cardinale has injected €50m to boost AC Milan's shareholders' equity, according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport. The investment occurred several weeks ago, with another capital increase planned in the coming months to provide financial backing for upcoming squad improvements.
The capital injection is intended to bolster the team's chances of returning to the Champions League rather than simply covering losses. Following consecutive seasons outside Europe's top competition, the extra funds could support moves in the January transfer market, where Milan has been linked with Goncalo Inacio and Endrick.
