AC Milan and Inter Milan are scheduled to open their new shared stadium in 2031, marking the end of a long-running development process. While both clubs previously considered building separate stadiums, they ultimately agreed to remain at San Siro due to financial reasons and opportunities. The announcement coincides with the 100th anniversary of the historic San Siro stadium.
Several preparatory changes have already occurred, including the demolition of the south ticket office in June and remodeling of the west side. However, significant obstacles remain before construction can be completed. The project still requires implementation plan approval from the Municipality and must navigate an ongoing criminal investigation into alleged bid-rigging.
