Italy are still in the running for the Nations League quarter-finals, but perhaps more importantly…

Italy has mathematically secured top seed status in Pot 1 for the upcoming EURO 2028 qualifying draw. The Azzurri earned the ranking through their recent Nations League performances, recovering from an opening loss to Belgium with two wins against Turkey and a draw against France. The qualifying draw is scheduled to take place on December 6 in Belfast.
Roberto Mancini's side currently sits second in Nations League Group A with seven points from four matches. They trail leaders France by three points and remain one point ahead of Belgium. Italy will conclude their group campaign against France at San Siro on November 12 and Belgium on November 15, with a top-two finish securing a quarter-final berth.
