As you could probably understand, I was rather worried about how the final hours of Juventus’ 129th birthday might actually go. Not because of who they were playing, but mostly because of what they did the last time they took…

Juventus secured a 2-0 victory over Napoli on Sunday night thanks to two second-half goals from Kerim Alajbegović and Jérémie Boga. After a scoreless opening 70 minutes, 19-year-old Alajbegović opened the scoring following an assist from Edon Zhegrova, before Boga added a second to seal the win. Napoli, managed by former Juventus boss Max Allegri, who was suspended, was without injured Stanislav Lobotka and ill Rasmus Højlund.
Writer Danny Penza argues that while the result does not resolve Juventus' wider issues this season, the squad showed much-needed fight following a difficult stretch and recent team meetings. Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario had to make just one save to secure the clean sheet, although Juventus suffered potential injury concerns with Weston McKennie, Juan Cabal, and Alajbegović.
