Mancini earns applause from media and confident Italy youth will flourish

Italy manager Roberto Mancini earned applause from journalists after an emotional reference to the late Gianluca Vialli following Italy's 3-1 win over Türkiye in Bologna. Mancini expressed strong confidence in the development of his young squad despite changing nine players for the UEFA Nations League fixture. The victory leaves Italy in second place in their Nations League group, trailing leaders France by three points.

Mancini praised several key performers, including Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori, who scored his first senior international goal, and substitute Pio Esposito, who netted his seventh goal in 13 caps. Gianluca Scamacca also ended a three-year international goal drought by scoring the opening goal before being substituted. Mancini also defended opposing coach Vincenzo Montella, noting Türkiye's missing players and Montella's previous success in securing promotion.
