The Story in 60 Seconds

Alieu Njie has revealed that Crystal Palace attempted to hijack his transfer from Torino on August 30, but he rejected their approach in order to join Fiorentina. The Swedish winger stated that he had already made up his mind while traveling to Florence for his medical, telling Crystal Palace that it was "Fiorentina or nothing."

Njie completed an initial €4 million loan move to Fiorentina, which includes an obligation to buy for €12 million plus up to €4 million in add-ons and a 10 percent future sell-on clause. He cited reuniting with coach Paolo Vanoli as a primary reason for choosing the Viola over interest from Palace and RB Salzburg.
