Romano: Defender an ‘absolute priority’ for Milan whilst Cardinale continues Endrick ‘obsession’

Fabrizio Romano reports that signing a new central defender is an absolute priority for AC Milan ahead of the January transfer window. Club owner Gerry Cardinale confirmed plans to aggressively strengthen the squad and add bench depth following an incomplete summer window. Sporting CP center-back Goncalo Inacio remains one of Milan's favored defensive targets after they failed to secure him late last summer.

Romano also highlighted Cardinale's continued obsession with signing Real Madrid forward Endrick. While AC Milan positioned themselves for a potential deal after inquiries in August, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has insisted the Brazilian starlet will remain at the club, though Roma and Aston Villa are also tracking him.
